Nature and natural
Thomas Burmeister Photography
Welcome
I have been a photo enthusiast since I got my first SLR-Camera at the age of fourteen. Back in the old day’s I learned taking pictures and the developing process with very little technology. Therefore, I learned all the skills of photography, what still applies in the digital age. Even with today’s digital mirrorless cameras, I still use manual settings as much as possible in order to have the most control over the picture I take. My credo is that a good picture arises only by catching the perfect moment from the perfect angle with the perfect settings on your camera. It is not always easy to catch the moment in time when you are on the road. This is why we plan our travels very carefully according to our photography plans. As an outdoor addict my main interest is nature and landscape photography, but I also care for street and architecture. Most of my pictures arose while travelling the world, especially in the United States, where I live.
Since the latest mirrorless DLR’s are brilliant in videography, moving pictures become more and more interesting to me.
Fire
Volcanoes are fascinating in many ways. Still active or quiet for ages, high or low, black or coloured, but they all have something in common. Every volcano has a story to tell.
Water
Water is probably the most important element of life. Lakes, oceans, waves, waterfalls or ice, every little spot has its own excitement. No matter how many waterfalls or lakes I have seen, each one is worth a picture.
Rocks
Rocks formed by volcanoes, water, tectonic movements or even wind. The diversity of shapes and colours is endless. The different layers and minerals reflect the history of our planet. There is always something new to discover.
